  • In concept,the scanning nuclear microprobe is similar to the scanning electron micro-probe,but has much higher sensitivity for microanalysis.The main features and the construction of thenew-built Nuclear Microprobe in Shanghai are described.It has been proved to be an ideal tool for mi-croanalysis in the fields of medical and biology,metallurg,microelectronics,archaeology and earthsciences.Its potentiality is demonstrated with examples in the applications of these fields.

Abstract:  In concept,the scanning nuclear microprobe is similar to the scanning electron micro-probe,but has much higher sensitivity for microanalysis.The main features and the construction of thenew-built Nuclear Microprobe in Shanghai are described.It has been proved to be an ideal tool for mi-croanalysis in the fields of medical and biology,metallurg,microelectronics,archaeology and earthsciences.Its potentiality is demonstrated with examples in the applications of these fields.
