  • The study of nuclear solid-state physics provides many new opportunities for nuclear physicists to contribute to the solution of some of the most of the fundamental questions in physics. This paper gives a brief survey of theoretical background and some new results on the microstructure of condensed matter obtained by nuclear methods. The elemental composition of the materials with nuclear methods are presented. The structure and behaviour of the solids under irradiation is discussed.
