Abstract: In this paper, by means of using the wavefunction taking th e ionicity effect into account of hydrogenlike ions, the influence of the ionicity effect on the transition probabilities of heavy hydrogenlike ions is systematic ally studied under a new model of potential function of hydrogenlike ions. It is found that the relative increase of the transition problbilities is from 3.55 t o 10.38 percent for the ions from Ne +9 to Pm +60 because of the ionic ity effect.
