Abstract: In this work we have calculated electron-ion collision rad ia tive recombination (RR) cross sections using semi-relativistic distorted wa ve approximation. The radiative recombination for highly charged ions (e.g. H-l ike and Li-like) with low nuclear charge are studied. By comparing our calculat ed values with coulombic wave approximation, we concluded that it is necessary t o use distorted-wave Born exchange approximation in calculating RR cross sectio ns.
