  • The history of the synthesis of the transuranium nuclei is briefly introduced. The most successful techniques currently used for synthesizing superheavy nuclei are surveyed and discussed in detail. The drawbacks and the problems for reaching the stability island of superheavy nuclei with the techniques currently used are discussed.
