Abstract: Based on the chiral effective field theory (CHEFT), we study the effective mass and decay width of △(1 232) in the nuclear matter with the modified nucleon propagator. We find that the effective mass of △(1 232) decreases, while the decay width of △(1 232) increases with increasing the density of nuclear matter. And the decay width of △(1 232) mainly depends on the effective masses of nucleon and △(1 232)
