  • The Skyrme energydensity functional together with the extended semiclassical ThomasFermi method is applied to the study of heavy ion fusion reactions at deep subbarrier energy. The relation between heavy ion fusion reactions at deep subbarrier energy and the equation of state (EOS) of nuclear matter is further probed by selecting different sets of Skyrme force parameters to reproduce the experimental excitation functions.

Abstract: The Skyrme energydensity functional together with the extended semiclassical ThomasFermi method is applied to the study of heavy ion fusion reactions at deep subbarrier energy. The relation between heavy ion fusion reactions at deep subbarrier energy and the equation of state (EOS) of nuclear matter is further probed by selecting different sets of Skyrme force parameters to reproduce the experimental excitation functions.
