Transverse Mass and Rapidity Distributions of Λ and Hyperons Produced in Central Pb-Pb Collisions

Abstract: The transverse mass and rapidity distributions of Lambda and Antilambda hyperons produced in central PbPb collisions at 40, 80, and 158 AGeV are described by the multisource ideal gas model and the threefireball model. The results calculated by the models are compared and found to be in agreement with the experimental data of the NA49 Collaboration.
