Abstract

The transverse mass and rapidity distributions of Lambda and Antilambda hyperons produced in central PbPb collisions at 40, 80, and 158 AGeV are described by the multisource ideal gas model and the threefireball model. The results calculated by the models are compared and found to be in agreement with the experimental data of the NA49 Collaboration.
